Holiday Events in Laurel & Jones County

The first weekend of December is circled on pretty much everyone’s calendar in Laurel because of the non-stop Christmas action and festivities! There is no better place to kick-off you holiday season! Traditions decades old come alive and are being introduced to new generations. Over 100 floats will sparkle and dazzle during the Christmas parade, and the Kiwanis Pancake Day the following morning will leave you extra jolly as you step into a magical holiday season. Arrive early on Friday and plan to stay through the day Saturday so you can squeeze in some Christmas shopping too!

3rd Annual United Way of the Pine Belt Region’s Prancer Path
Opens on November 21, The Backlot at Library and Congress Streets
Stroll through a magical display of 100 trees uniquely decorated by local organizations and businesses.

 


Mistletoe at Mason
Lights on nightly November 30-January 2; Mason Park
Make your way to Mason Park where you can view one of Laurel’s most treasured Christmas traditions of whimsical light displays throughout the park. The lights are officially turned on at the Mistletoe on Mason event on November 30 at 6:15PM. Concessions, train rides and activities are available during this fun event.

40th Annual Christmas at Landrum’s Homestead
Various dates from November 25-December 23
Step back in time to a special Christmas celebration of the past. Situated on a 30-acre homestead, Landrum’s offers weekly events throughout the Christmas season. Events feature photos with Santa, wagon rides, craft vendors, civil war re-enactments, funnel cakes, face painting, live music, kettle corn, homemade ice cream, marshmallow roasting, and Christmas shopping. Twinkling lights illuminate the property nightly for you to continue soaking up the joy and wonder into the evening.

December 2; Downtown Ellisville
Bring the whole family, and prepare for a day full of food, music, shopping, jumps, free children’s activities and crafts, the annual Christmas parade, and the city’s tree lighting!!

 

14th Annual Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas Concert
December 8; 7PM; Laurel Little Theatre
Don’t miss the 14th annual family-friendly Laurel Christmas tradition! The show includes a performance by The Joe Cool Trio performing Vince Guaraldi’s Masterpiece Soundtrack, A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Cadence Bank Cookie Stroll
December 16; 5-8PM; Downtown Laurel
This inaugural event will surely be a sweet one! Downtown merchants will stay open late for a fun-filled evening of cookies, cookies and more cookies at every turn. Family-friendly activities, including a live nativity, movies, caroling and carriage rides, will be scattered throughout downtown. Plus, there may even be a Santa sighting!
