Safely Visit Laurel & Jones County

We look forward to welcoming visitors to Laurel and Jones County’s scenic outdoors, numerous restaurants and hotels, and our boutiques and name-brand shops. Guests are advised to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines while both traveling to and visiting The City Beautiful and our entire county.

Mandatory Mask Order: Governor Tate Reeves has reinstated a mask mandate for Jones County that will be in effect until Wednesday, November 11 (per Executive Order 1528). See Executive Order 1527 for details.
Additionally, group gatherings are limited to no more than 10 people in a single indoor space and no more than 50 in an outdoor space. Exceptions for religious entities, voting precincts, students in classrooms, and gatherings governed by other capacity limitations covered by Executive Order 1525.

Additional safe practices include:

  • washing hands regularly with soap and water,
  • covering your mouth and nose with a mask when around others,
  • minimizing close contact with others,
  • and maintaining a minimum of six feet of social distance from others.


Visitors are also encouraged to stay informed of additional public health guidance in local destinations throughout the state to minimize risk to themselves and others.
